"Receiving this recognition and support from the Tony Elumelu Foundation is a pivotal moment for Presibo. This grant will fund the initial deployment of our connected remote monitoring terminals to community pharmacies, bringing affordable health monitoring to thousands of Nigerians." — Jerry Nwobodo, Founder of Presibo
Addressing the Chronic Care Gap in Nigeria
In Nigeria, over 35 million adults live with chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. The traditional care model relies on quarterly doctor appointments, leaving huge diagnostic gaps. If blood pressure or glucose levels spike silently during these 90-day intervals, patients remain unaware until a severe health crisis occurs.
Presibo solves this by offering continuous care infrastructure. With our low-cost medical terminals placed inside local pharmacies, patients can routinely measure their vitals. The readings are logged in real-time, analyzed by our AI triage engines, and shared immediately with their standby clinicians.
How the Funding Will Be Deployed
The $5,000 seed grant will be specifically directed toward two key initiatives:
- POH Terminal Production: Speeding up the manufacturing of our Presibo Health Terminal units, enabling placement in 10 initial pilot pharmacies across Lagos.
- EHR System Testing: Refining our SaaS portal for local clinics, enabling paperless clinic queues and remote medical records access for consulting doctors.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, and the entire Foundation committee for their belief in our mission to democratize chronic care. We are excited to leverage the TEF ecosystem to scale our health solutions across Nigeria and ultimately, the wider African continent.
